Albert Chubac — Composition en bleu

Composition en bleu

Circa 1960 · Acrylic and pigment on paper, under glass · 100 × 140 × 5 cm

The contrast between the saturation of the blue and the raw texture of the paper establishes a visual breathing that structures the entire composition. At the frontier of minimalism and gestural abstraction, the work asserts a rhythmic presence characteristic of Albert Chubac's practice, where material and colour converse in a single breath.

Albert Chubac — CHU N°569

CHU N°569

Circa 1960 · Acrylic and gouache on paper · 45 × 75 × 3 cm

An abstract composition in which coloured planes engage with assertive black lines within a rhythmic and balanced space. Geometric forms, graphic signs and linear structures interact like a free and spontaneous symbolic language. Between abstraction and stylised figuration, the work extends Chubac's research on rhythm, visual narrative and the construction of pictorial space.

Albert Chubac — CHU N°507

CHU N°507

Circa 1960 · Acrylic and gouache on paper · 70 × 95 × 3 cm

A collection of geometric forms and stylised signs arranged as a coded visual language. Primary colours and natural tones dialogue with assertive black lines, evoking totemic figures, masks and archaic symbols. Chubac extends here his research into a plastic alphabet in which colour structures space as much as the sign itself.
