The crinkled surface responds to the artist's emblematic technique: work on folded kraft paper, marouflage and successive paint projections, which bring forth a dense texture of superimpositions and pictorial accidents. The material appears to vibrate of its own accord, bearing witness to a research into gesture, energy and trace characteristic of Kinjo Ladislas's practice between the 1980s and 1990s.
